Dmitrii Khvan is a Russian photographer working with themes of contemporary youth, Western cultural influence, and collective nostalgia. His practice examines how young people navigate an increasingly complex world—one marked by information overload, economic uncertainty, and the weight of inherited expectations.
Through long-term photographic projects, he explores questions about authenticity in the digital age: Why do we romanticize eras we never experienced? How do globalized ideals shape local realities? What does it mean to carve out personal meaning when traditional milestones feel out of reach? His images document this generational tension—between disillusionment and hope, between mediated nostalgia and the search for something genuine.
